SBG & Wear in LA: Sheer Purple Top 2 Ways

Hey there! Today I'm super excited to share a blogger collaboration with you. As you probably know, I've been working with Marshalls on their #ProjectFab campaign since last August. So have 24 other style bloggers, including Katelyn of Wear in LA. Katelyn is an awesome (and incredibly gorgeous) blogger from Los Angeles and I was SO happy to team up with her for a Style Two Ways competition featuring an adorable sheer purple top.

While I was tempted to style the top with jeans, as I wear most things, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and try something a little bit different. I wanted to mix textures and go for a slightly more fashion-y outfit than I normally do. So, I reached for my patent leather Giselle pumps from Sole Society and tribal knit skirt from H&M (I bought it a couple weekends ago and love it).

Since it's still a bit chilly (OK, it snowed earlier this week) I layered my current favourite denim jacket on top of it all. The look is surprisingly neutral considering there's quite a bit going on - a sheer textured top over a lacy bandeau, tribal print knit skirt with green waist band, shiny black ankle strap pumps and a cuffed light wash denim jacket.

Pardon my mega roots, by the way. I'm overdue for a hair colouring and am headed to the salon next week. I'm considering putting some low lights throughout my blonde to make it a little more multi-tonal for summer. I know people usually go darker for winter and lighter for summer, but today I'm in a "take the road less traveled" type of mood. ;)

What do you think of my outfit? Be sure to check out Katelyn of Wear in LA's outfit too! Maybe there will be another collab in the future... this one was really fun!
