Song of the Day: Fix You / Vita Chambers

I know Old Navy isn't usually what pops into most peoples' minds when they think of fashion, but I'm a firm believer that if you go on the right day, in the right mindset, you can really find some great pieces at seriously low prices. I went by this week in search of a cheap pair of jeans to get me through to my spring shopping and ended up grabbing a few tops and a printed pair of pants, too - the printed chambray and boyfriend cardigan shown above included. What I will say, however, is Old Navy needs to absolutely upgrade the bags they put your purchases in. They look like actual white garbage bags and are next to impossible to carry around. Blech!
I've been asked a lot recently about the eye cream I've been raving about on Twitter and in real life. I recently finished a sample I was given by a sales associate at Sephora and have since gone back and purchased the small version of both products. If they continue working as well as they have thus far, I'll be buying the full sized. I rotate between this and this and am amazed at the results. My dark circles are vanishing and the skin under my eye is tightening, reducing the visible fine lines and wrinkles that come with age and having large eyes (there's more skin to wrinkle... joy). They're pricey but if you're in the market for a powerful eye product, I'd recommend you check them out.
I have a cold that I can't seem to shake but would love to get out and see Gangster Squad sometime this weekend. I saw Beautiful Creatures earlier this week during a special screening with Julia and liked it, though I think I would have understood a lot more had I read the book before seeing the movie. Once again, I was mesmerized by The Great Gatsby trailer (Leonardo DiCaprio can do no wrong in my eyes) and can't wait until summer so I can see it at least twice!
As far as the next week goes, I have to find something to buy my husband for Valentine's Day (suggestions are more than welcome) and I'll be live tweeting with TubeTime on the 15th and 19th during ETalk which airs at 7pm ET. Download the app and join me in watching it and tweeting!

DeleteLove your outfit, it's cute and comfy. I agree, depending on when and where you go you can always find cute pieces, you just have to look a little harder sometimes.

DeleteI like the printed top :) the few times I've ventured into Old Navy (I never seem to think to stop in there) I've come out with something I end up wearing all the time. You're right, you just need the right mindset when you go in there!
ReplyDeleteEspecially when shopping in the Rideau Centre, I sometimes forget it's even there... but there's actually a lot inside!
DeleteI love the printed chambray!
