I've mentioned the Marilyn hair treatment from LUSH before, but tried this one out yesterday and knew I had to tell you about it. I love the Marilyn treatment because it gives my blonde a boost (literally, it makes it a bit brighter and lighter) but isn't quite moisturizing enough for the winter. I went into LUSH to pick up another hair treatment that I've heard works wonders, but discovered "Roots" instead.

This hair treatment is a new for 2013 and is a medium moisturizing treatment. I was drawn to it because it's formulated for thin and/or fine hair (mine is fine but I've got lots of it) and it's full of delicious ingredients like fresh mint, honey, citric acid, peppermint oil, extra virgin olive oil, nettle, and more. A lot of the ingredients are stimulating ingredients, so you feel a tingly sensation on your scalp when using it. I love it because, unlike other hair treatments, it's designed to target not only your hair but also your scalp. So, that tingling sensation helps to get the blood in your scalp flowing - something that leads to improved hair growth - and adds some volume at your roots.

For my length of hair, I'll be able to get two full treatments from one tub of Roots, which brings the price to about $10 per treatment. I like to do a treatment on my hair every other week to help it stay healthy and avoid too many split ends, so I feel that's a price I can deal with. With the Marilyn treatment I was able to get three applications from a tub, but it's slightly more expensive and was a lot thinner in consistency so it went a bit further.

I used this product yesterday and my hair feels really smooth and manageable today. My hair doesn't feel weighed down at all (I once used a hair mask from Neutrogena and felt like it was still on my head the entire next day... definitely don't recommend that product at all) and I'm really, really happy with the results. Roots is another win for LUSH...go figure!

  1. This is why I always use some hair treatments. The best ones I like are the ones with ketoconazole. And the bestest of all those is RegenePure. After leaving it in 5 minutes in my hair, and than using it 2 times a week, it actually helps me out I see it prevents hairloss and promotes hair growth. I always get mine at regenepure.com.

  2. I've tried ROOTS too, Katelyn, and yep, you're right!

    It's awesome!

My hair's waist length, and I'm always paranoid about the ends. They should be a good 7-8 years old now, and therefore require extra TLC.

ROOTS till date has lived up to mark. Apart from this also try giving 'Breakage Defender' a shot. It's a conditioner from Clairol (comes in a lavender-coloured dispenser and smells like fresh lavender buds <3)

  3. Thanks for sharing your experience about Roots. It's hard to make a decision to try a new product when you don't know anyone who's tried it.
