I'm finally back in Ottawa after a 9 hour drive which included motion sickness and highway detours due to accidents galore. Needless to say, I don't want to get in the car again anytime too soon! Yesterday I picked up some picture frames from IKEA and finally got around to hanging my gorgeous art I purchased from Elle Moss through Society 6. You can see the pieces (sort of) I ordered here on Twitter as well as on my Instagram. A huge thanks to my husband for measuring and doing the actual hanging... I merely supervised.
Today I've got a lot of running around to do since tomorrow's NYE and everything will be closed by the time I finish work. I'm also running out of eyeshadow primer so want to swing by the Sephora. Hopefully I don't get sucked in too much and end up buying another Christmas palette! If I had it my way, I'd spend the entire day siting around the apartment listening to records on our new record player and work on catching up on blog posts. It's just so peaceful!
This little lacy number is a dress I was sent from London Times. It's a teensy bit long on me (I prefer things hitting a few inches above the knee) but I really can't be bothered to get it hemmed at the moment. I wore it multiple times over the holidays and on Christmas eve because I love how festive it feels. It can easily be worn through 'til early Spring, however, just styled a bit differently and made to look a little more casual. TBH I'm probably going to throw on scruffy jeans and a gigantic sweater because it's freezing outside and I don't want to strut around the mall in heels, but I wanted to share this outfit with you since some of us still have a few more holiday parties - like NYE 2013 - to get around to and I thought it would be fitting.
I'm obsessed with my faux fur stole, so obviously I'm wearing that! I've also belted the dress with a cheap black belt from Forever 21, added a leather and stud cuff bracelet, and put on my suede heels from Nine West. It's a little fancy for the everyday but, like I said, is perfectly fitting for any remaining holiday parties...including NYE.
Speaking of the New Year, London Times is running a contest right now for a $200 USD gift card. I thought you might be interested in hearing about it since my last giveaway with them was so popular amongst you lovely readers. It's really simple to enter, all you have to do is click here and share your style resolution for 2013. If I had to resolve to do something style-oriented in 2013, I'd say it would be to work on building my wardrobe with more mixable pieces and to purchase in outfits rather than picking up one item I like but not having a clue how to wear it. Thus far, Ive never stuck to a single resolution in my life. Hopefully 2013 is the year I actually do it!

Your dress is so beautiful, I love the colour and pattern. Also, I love your blog layout, it's very professional! I'm having a giveaway if you'd like to enter :) http://improvisedintentions.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/christmas-giveaway.html Hope you have a good NYE! xx
