Packing for Christmas

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

I type this post in between tossing my favourite items onto my bed and sorting through them to make enough outfits to get me through my Christmas home with my family. We're jumping in our car and making the seven hour drive home to spend Christmas with my parents, brother, sister, and my husband's family... and I am so excited. It's going to be so nice to get out of Ottawa and away from work and just be able to enjoy the holidays, food, drinks, and visiting with family and friends. Cole is joining me and watching Almost Famous while the packing happens. He's such a film critic.
My least favourite thing about heading home is the packing and unpacking of my suitcase. I never seem to bring enough home, or I end up bringing too much, and always underestimate the amount of goodies we'll have to bring back in the car with us. We're driving one of my coworkers, too, since her family lives near the same town in Southwestern Ontario... so it could get a little crowded in our hatchback!
So far, I know I want to bring anything with sequins, sparkles, and studs. I also want to bring as many oversized sweaters as I can fit in my suitcase... and there are at least three pairs of shoes I think I might end up needing. See my issues?! I'll try to blog from home but ask for your forgiveness if I end up going off the grid until December 27th. I tend to get wrapped up in being home and doing everything that involves and forget the Internet exists....
My Tentative Packing List...So Far
Sequin Sleeveless Top - Forever 21
Oxblood Playsuit - LOVE
Black and Glitter Keyhole Dress - LOVE
Red Lace A-Line Dress - London Times Fashion
Faux Fur Stole - H&M via Ebay
Multicoloured Sweater - Forever 21 (similar)
Tangerine Knit Skirt - H&M
Pocketed Blouses - Old Navy
Tarnney Studded Boots - Steve Madden via Swell
Drought Pumps - Nine West

Am I missing anything major or obvious? Like always, I'm going to pile my jewelry into ziploc bags and stuff as much makeup in my traveling cosmetic bag as humanly possible (I don't visit home very often throughout the year, so I need to make sure I look decent if I run into anyone - and in a small town, you can always be sure you'll run into at least 10 somebodies. Anyways, I'll do my best to post while home but in case I can't or choose not to or get too swept up in the holiday spirit, make sure you're following my Twitter and Instagram because I'm sure I'll be reaching for my iPhone to document anything my camera misses. xx

Enjoy the holidays, everyone!

Happy holidays, I hope you have a fab time at home with your family! Stay away from the internet as much as possible, I mean how often can we actually really do that?

    1. Thanks so much! The dresser is part of our wedding gift (bedroom suite) but the mirror is too tall for the loft... at least I could get the dresser in :)
