Beauty Review: Soapwalla Deodorant Cream

Song of the Day: Cool Water / Laura Veirs

I never in a million years thought I'd like a deodorant enough to review it on my blog, for all the world to read about my armpit adventures, but this one's honestly worth talking about. Soapwalla is a brand available on Fresh Faced (click here to read my post about them from earlier this year) and they make an all natural, apply with your hands, cream deodorant. I'll admit I was skeptical at first, but soon found myself questioning why I use the deodorant I use on a daily basis. I'm not an overly sweaty person. I work out in great moderation. What was stopping me from using something aside from my drugstore go-to? Then I realized why... my armpits just aren't something I think about.

I've now used this deodorant for a full week and plan to use the entire product. It feels amazing on the skin (who knew armpits could "like" something?!) and really does work. I'm finding myself more and more drawn to all natural beauty products and really starting to care about what I put on my skin, and now wish I had switched to a natural ingredient deodorant sooner. Yes, it's a little weird applying a cream onto your armpits at first, but it's something I was able to get past after day two.

I'm not the only one who thinks it's awesome, either. I've looked into it and found it featured on ELLE and in NY Times Magazine - two huge publications that are regularly stocked full of P&G products. If the people at ELLE like something they're probably not getting paid millions of dollars to endorse, it must mean they really like something. For those of you who are just as curious about the ingredients as I was, they're as follows:
Organic jojoba, sunflower, and rosehip seed oils; shea butter; a combination of all-natural and gluten-free vegetable clays and powders; aluminum-free sodium bicarbonate; organic vegan kosher glycerin; a combination of organic lavender, peppermint, sweet orange, bergapten-free bergamot, and tea tree essential oils.

If you want to try it out yourself, you can order it online for $12.99. It comes in an adorable 2oz tin that's sure to last you a while. Happy... sweating? Bye for now!

  1. This product sounds like it's definitely worth checking out. Armpits don't get enough attention:)
