Cherry, cherry quite contrary (Vera Moda, Payless)

It's been an inferno the last couple of days. I've been trying to find creative ways to wear as little clothes as possible without looking like a floozy so excuse me for today's incredibly basic outfit. In these photos, I'm wearing a Vera Moda dress paired with vegan suede ankle strap sandals in nude and a fresh water pearl necklace my husband (then boyfriend) gave me for Christmas a few years ago. For a little sprinkle of irony, I'm wearing NARS' Heat Wave lipstick and can't believe it didn't melt right off my face!

If you're wondering where these photos were taken, there's a parkway behind my apartment building that leads to a questionable area of the city. We took a stroll through the forested area and happened upon this little spot and couldn't resist snapping some photos as it just appeared so lush. The only downside? The swarms of bugs and the odd families with strollers full of children trekking into the forest (strange, I know).

That's just about it for today! I've got a few super exciting things in the works, blog related and otherwise, and can't wait to share them with you but I've got to keep that buried deep down inside for the time being.
