Dress: Sugarlips / Shoes: Kate & Mel via Town shoes /
Earrings: Swarovski / Lips: MAC Pink Nouveau
I was sent this gorgeous colour-blocked maxi dress (Opposites Attract) by Sugarlips this week and couldn't wait to share it with you here on the blog. The skirt is multi-layered in a sheer yellow and has gorgeous movement to it. The top is a simple one shouldered neutral and attaches to the skirt with a thick black elastic waistband. It's a wonderful option for those of us not usually able to pull off all-over yellow.
I paired the dress with a Topshop necklace dupe from Ebay, my favourite chunky sandals in black suede, some chunky rings and vibrant nail polish. I went for a lime green on my fingernails and a light aqua blue on my toes. Since I wanted to keep my jewelry pretty simple, I allowed for my nail polish to be bright.
If you're wondering where these pictures were shot, they were taken on my 19th floor apartment balcony. I typically avoid the balcony (we have two, no idea why!) because of the terrifying heights but wanted to take advantage of the gorgeous sun and view. If you enjoy it, too, I'll try to do some more out there.

The dress is so gorgeous, i love the colour. The necklace is beautiful, i love it!

Thank you! I usually don't go for yellow, but this one changed my mind!
DeleteI saw this dress on Kims blog, and it was gorgeous then! I adore the photos, and it just looks so so pretty and summery xx
ReplyDeleteOh yeah? I'd love the link to check it out! :)
DeleteThank you!
I'm in yellow today too! =D I've on a color-blocked dress which is Yellow & White. I like your skirt! Very unique =)
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike! ;) I'm having a bit of a yellow moment... don't know where it came from! xx
DeleteThe first thing I have to say is your header is AMAZING! Seriously the most well-done one I've seen in a while- I love it! The yellow on your maxi dress is so pretty and I love that you made the outfit edgier with your spiked necklace :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I'm quite fond of it as well, so that means a lot. I don't have too many places to go locally in a formal-type dress, so I did what I could to take it down a notch and try to casual it up!
Deletexx
