I'm still awaiting the arrival of my tax refund cheque so I'm currently creating outfits by mixing pieces from my fall/winter clothes with pieces from my new spring/summer purchases. I don't mind, and am always one for versatility, but I am totally dying looking at all the "new arrivals" on my favourite websites.

I had such a great time visiting my home town last weekend and posted a few pictures to Instagram, including one of my highschool regulars - a local "real cream" iced cream shop. I got to spend lots of time with my family, my husband's family, celebrate my grandpa-in-law's 90th birthday, visit my Nana and Papa, see my best friend and enjoy a glass of wine, and just relax and spend some time out of the city. The only downside? The 7.5 hour drive home and the 7.5 more hours driving back to the city. Why doesn't teleporting exist?

Anyways, it's now Sunday of the long weekend (thank goodness tomorrow is a holiday because I totally slept in 'til noon today). I got to visit my cousin's new baby, hang out with a friend and see a movie and generally just relax. The weather has been sickeningly nice - I think I'll have a melt down the minute clouds reappear because now I'm so used to this summer sun! I've also picked up more freelance social media work as of late and have lots in the works for this summer and fall. I'm so thankful for all you blog readers and Twitter followers, Pinterest pinners and Instagram likers!

Today I'm wearing my new American Apparel Denim shorts. They have an elastic waist band and sit high on the hip and make me feel like I'm in Dirty Dancing - or wearing a diaper - but I think they look really cool.
