Summer wardrobe essentials

I perused Topshop's newest arrivals and was - in a word - overwhelmed. I wanted to compile a list of "must haves" and then realized, "wouldn't my readers want this too?" So, here it is. My top 6 Summer Essentials that anyone can make into fabulous, versatile outfits.

The Neutral Blazer

Firstly, a structured blazer is not only for cold months. Lighten up your day look by styling a neutral (think cream or peach) blazer with a maxi skirt and silk tank. Or, glam it up for the evening by pairing the same neutral blazer with faux leather leggings and a bold coral blouse for a cat-walk ready look. A blazer like the one pictured, from Topshop, is a must have for the office and outside of work.

The Black Maxi Dress, Circle Scarf & Stacked Bracelets

A solid black maxi dress may seem like something that's going to keep you anything but cool through the hot summer months, so look for a light weight fabric and super thin straps. The one pictured has waist cut outs to allow for a little extra breeze and for a sexy flash of skin. Style this dress, or one like it, with beaded sandals and a bold print scarf, a 3/4 length cardigan and the stacked bracelets above to take an easy day look into the evening.

The Crop Top and Asymmetrical Skirt

Every girl needs to own two things this season: a crop top and an asymmetrical skirt. I chose the above two pieces because they're edgy yet super feminine - translating to easy to wear for most women. Pair the two items above with a blazer, cardigan, or denim jacket.
